Bedside Organiser

I got around to taking some pics of the new bedside organisers today in the lovely afternoon light.

The linen houses one is off to my new stockist, the Volumes Bookshop in Eltham. They're having a Mothers Day gift section in the shop and Faint Impressions will have a few products on show.

They are available online should your bedside need a tidy.

Pick Of The Week

This is my favourite clutch at the moment.

I thought I'd share my pick of the week with you just to help you get through the rest of your Monday.

Measuring 19.5cm high and 31cm wide this scarlet beauty is made from quality upholstery fabric with a musk pink drill lining that's as yummy as a life saver lolly. Front flap is made from 100% cotton and features three birds resting on the branches of beautiful cherry blossoms. Magnetic snap closure and reinforced with a medium interfacing for support and shape. The perfect size to carry all of the essentials with style, these little birdies are bound to draw attention from all corners of the room.

Available to buy from my online shop for $55, it would make a lovely mothers day gift. Free postage within Australia until the end of this week.

Inside view-mmm pink and red, I just love it!

Come On, Vogue

I've been watching the TV series "Mad Men", which if you like the style of the 50's is a must see. Peggy & Joan are my favourite characters and I can't stand Pete Smith!!
I LOVE the dresses Peggy wears. Oh how I wish I could walk around in her wardrobe all day, well maybe not all day as going to the loo looks a tad cumbersome.

Watching the show reminded me of a 1950's Vogue pattern I bought about a year ago. It's been quite a while since I've found time to make something pretty to wear. I can't wait until I make this dress; it takes 6.5 meters of fabric! Not just any fabric will be up to the task but I am surely on the look out for the perfect one.

I'll post a photo when I've made it, who knows when that will be though.

I wonder if my waist will look like this too

February Workshop

From left Lizy, Elizabeth and Zoe enjoying the day

A splendiferous day was had by all at the February workshop. Splendiferous is my new word from google dictionary, pretty fancy huh?

With great crafty company, we sewed the day away, drinking endless cups of tea and indulging in delicate pieces of cake. I just can't think of a better way to spend the day.

Some beautiful fabrics where out on display, including a few that I have in my ever increasing stash.

There were a good range of skill levels and the birthday girl, Lizy, even made modifications to the pattern. Awesome.

All the bags turned out great and I'm sure everyone has received many compliments on their crafty achievement and is inspired to do more.

Thanks again for coming Lizy, Zoe and Elizabeth.

Lizy's bag, love the owl

Zoe's bag, always a soft spot for Amy Butler

It's my first time to this market so wish me luck.

If you're in Melbourne please come down and say hi as I'm a newbie to the area.
I'm sure there will be lots of lovely goodies to buy.

And The Winner Is....

Elizabeth Cook from Frolic in Fabric is the WINNER of the "My Favourite Studio" competition.

This is currently Elizabeth's lovely studio; however very very soon she will be the proud owner of a brand spanking new one with timber floors and gorgeous white bi-folding doors.
How will you decorate it? There are so many pretty things to choose from.

Current studio, can you spot the hidey hole?

I admire anyone who can find a little studio space and time when they have children. Actually, I admire anyone who has children.

She even has her own dress model, which comes in very handy when trying to hem your own skirts. Much better than standing on the coffee table and getting your boyfriend to pin your skirt hem, reiterating over and over "make sure it's straight!"

The new studio, soon to be finished

Here is the surprise package Elizabeth will receive in the post any day now.

I hope you like it Elizabeth and have a ball decorating the new studio when it's finished.

P.S Don't forget to come out every now and then to feed the kids :-)
